RoHS

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) 2002/95/EC was adopted in the European Union on February 2003.

This directive prescribes a series of restrictions on the use of a range of hazardous substances in the construction of various types of electrical and electronic products. Compliance with this directive became compulsory on 1 July 2006, when it replaced all previous legislation in force in member states.

SapiSelco products are FREE of the following heavy metals:

  • cadmium
  • lead
  • mercury
  • hexavalent chromium

and also of the following flame retardants:

  • polybrominated biphenyl (PBB)
  • pentabromodyphenyl ether (PBDE)
  • decabromodiphenyl ether (decaBDE)
  • tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A)
  • hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD)

which are all hazardous substances banned in the European Union in the electrical and electronic equipment manufacturing sector.
