Unlike cable ties, fixing collars allow the strap to be inserted in the head thanks to the flexibility of the material and the elastic deformation of the head. The material is softer and more flexible than that utilised for cable ties. Insertion of the strap into the head can be difficult using the fingers, so we recommend the use of our specific tool (PIN. 005). Since these pliers are not equipped with any form of preload adjustment, it is important to limit the force applied to the point at which at least 2 or 3 teeth protrude from the head once the tail is cut off. A safety modulus of 2 must be always adopted in normal ambient conditions. In harsher conditions a higher safety modulus (from 3 to 10) must be adopted. The modulus must increase proportionally to the extent in which the environmental conditions deviate from “normal” conditions.
